Triclimate® Jackets

The North Face® Triclimate® jackets deliver the ultimate versatility and performance in winter conditions. In essence, Triclimate® jackets mange to be all things to snowsports athletes and cover a wide range of temperatures, conditions, and activity levels.

Triclimate® integrates an innovative zip-in or three-point snap attachment system that provides three high-performance jackets in one to meet the demands of any winter day.

How to wear your Triclimate® jacket:
• When it’s cold and snowy, wear the outer shell jacket combined with the liner jacket for increased insulation and protection.
• When it’s snowy and relatively mild, wear the outer shell on its own.
• When the skies are blue, and there’s no fresh snow in sight, wear just the zip-in or snap-in liner jacket.

Polartec® Eco-Engineering

Polartec® Eco-Engineering™ Recycled Technology:
The new Denali Jacket, Men’s El Cap Peak 1/4 Zip, and Women’s El Cap Temple 1/4 Zip are constructed with recycled material as part of The North Face® commitment to sustainability.

The Denali solid fleece fabric are derived from 87 percent recycled content, and the Denali heather fleece fabric will be constructed from 65 percent recycled material. These materials are made from 90 percent post-industrial waste and 10 percent post-consumer waste, stopping the flow of materials to the landfill and creating valuable materials from waste.

The specified El Caps are derived from 100 percent recycled content. These materials are made from 90 percent post-industrial waste and 10 percent post-consumer waste, stopping the flow of materials to the landfill and creating valuable materials from waste.

How does the Denali benefit our environment?
- The North Face® will save 20.9 pounds of CO2 emissions per yard of Denali solid fleece fabric.
- Approximately 40 pounds of greenhouse gases and .52 gallon of gasoline will be saved for every Denali solid fleece jacket.

How does the El Cap benefit our environment?
- Saves roughly 15.6 lbs. in CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere for each El Cap garment.
- Saves roughly .33 gallons of gas in the production of each El Cap.
- Per yard energy savings equivalent to: .17 gallon gas.

WindWall® Fabric

WindWall® fabric is a proprietary wind-resistant fleece from The North Face®. WindWall® utilizes a unique fabric-bonding process that allows a limited degree of external air permeability (approximately 20 CFM), thereby drastically reducing the effects of wind chill and enhancing the user’s warmth and comfort.

WindWall® 1 fabric has a mesh liner and WindWall™ 2 fabric has a grid fleece liner for even greater insulation.

TKA Fleece

TKA (Thermal Kinetic Advancement) Fleece are proprietary fabrics created by The North Face with superior insulation and wear-resistance. There are three different weights of TKA fleece offered throughout our products, and a TKA Superstretch fabric that excels in aerobic activities.

TKA 100: TKA 100 is a lightweight, high-performance microfiber fleece with a luxurious finish. TKA micro-fleece provides warmth next to the skin or in a layering system. This 100 percent polyester fabric is engineered to be both durable and resistant to pilling. It offers warmth when wet, launders well, compresses to a small size, and packs easily.

TKA 200: A midweight fleece ideally suited to function as a mid-layer. This 100 percent polyester, pill-resistant fabric is warm and breathable and has a great warmth-to-weight ratio.

TKA 300: A mid to heavyweight, high performance, pill-resistant fleece. It can be worn as a layering piece or by itself as a warm, casual outer layer; a great alternative to a cotton sweatshirt.

TKA Superstretch: TKA Superstretch features a supple, four-way-stretch fabric that delivers exceptional breathability and comfort. The soft, brushed inner surface aids in the fabric’s moisture control and prevents chaffing, while the polyester and spandex construction contributes to a conforming, supportive fit. TKA Superstretch is ideal as a layering piece in cool-to-cold conditions, or may be worn by itself as an aerobic outer layer.
