Sugarloaf is one of the first places many people go hiking when they come to visit Marquette. As you can see from the pictures, Sugarloaf has amazing scenery. Once you’ve reached the top, you can see the vast and beautiful Lake Superior, the city of Marquette and of course the woods of the U.P. It is about a 10 to 20 minute hike for most visitors, but it is easy to take your time. If you ever come up to Marquette, Sugarloaf is one of the many places to see.

The 2010 Olympic Winter Games Speedskating Trials are today, September 8th, at the Berry Events Center, Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. The finalists in today’s trial will compete in the Short Track World Cup 1-4 to earn their starting spots for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Short Track Wold Cup #1 and #4 will be held in Marquette, MI where the athlete’s standing will be critical in earning a starting spot for the Olympic Team.

Keep a look out around town for speedskates painted by people in the community. The speedskates are displayed throughout the streets of Marquette. Come and witness this historic event.

The 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, British Columbia are right around the corner. What is even more exciting is that the Olympic Team Trials for Short Track Speedskating will be held at the Berry Events Center home of the WildCats at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. The event takes place September 8th-12th. During this time, the 2010 Olympic Team will be selected to compete in the Winter Games in Vancouver. Spectators from all over the Mid West are coming to Marquette to witness this historical event. The Marquette community is painting speedskates for the event that will be displayed throughout the streets of Marquette. Come and witness this monumental event.

 

The 6th annual Blues Festival brought to you by Marquette Area Blues society in Marquette is almost here. Blues Fest is where beautiful Lake Superior meets the everlasting Blues. Check the Festival out at Mattson Lower Harbor on September 5th. Stop by and listen to some good old blues.
